Please meet our newest elder in Pharping, Nepal! The Senior Citizen Care Home recently welcomed Janaki, who comes to us after being put out into the streets by her stepson.
You can see from Shaha dev’s text to me that after her husband died, her stepson sold all the family properties and then left her on her own. Yes, this stuff really happens in other countries.
Both Shaha dev and I are forever grateful to you all for opening your hearts and showing these elders they are not alone.
Our mission is simple: To improve the lives of impoverished and homeless elders around the world through food and housing support, regardless of the elder’s race, religion, gender, sexual identity, or sexual preference. We act on our belief that elders should be respected and their history be cherished.
What we really do: We help to rescue homeless and abandoned elders from the streets in Nepal and Guatemala, and give them a new family, a safe place to live, and unconditional support for the rest of their lives. We all do this. Not just me, my board, and my volunteers…but all of us. When you buy something from our online store, or make a $20 donation, you are spreading incredible love across the world.
Thank you for helping to saving these elders at the most vulnerable time in their lives.
We love you!
Namaste,
Alicia
